About the trade show

Optatec 2028 is an international trade fair for optical technologies, taking place in Frankfurt am Main from 9 to 11 May 2028. On show are optical components, optomechanics, optoelectronics, fibre optics and optical waveguides as well as laser components. Further topics are image processing, optical engineering and microscopy; a programme of technical talks accompanies the exhibition.

The fair is open only to trade visitors from manufacturing, application and research. In 2026 it counted 265 exhibitors and 3,407 visitors. The organiser is P. E. Schall GmbH & Co. KG. Optatec was founded in 1992 and takes place every two years.
