Topics range from climbing, bouldering and mountaineering to alpine skiing, ski touring and freeriding, trail running, mountain biking and specialist travel. A focus is on alpine safety, first aid and rescue systems. The Alpinforum conference takes place alongside the fair.
The fair is aimed at manufacturers, retailers, alpine institutions and mountain sports organisations as well as at mountaineers and climbers. In 2025 it counted 220 exhibitors and 13,000 visitors. The organiser is Congress und Messe Innsbruck GmbH, in cooperation with the Austrian Board for Alpine Safety. Alpinmesse was founded in 2006 and takes place every year in Innsbruck.
